Earlier this week I shared a post with you about how I navigate getting back on track during and after vacation weeks. I want to share more with you today on this topic of physical fitness and getting back on track. Let’s talk about CHECKDOWNS
If you’re a frequent reader— this is not the first time you’ve read about CHECKDOWNS and it wont be the last. If you ask me it’s a secret weapon for all things success. It’s the fuel that keeps momentum going.
What Are CHECKDOWNS?
Let’s say you have a 1.5 hour workout planned. + you have commute time to and from the gym. Then, real life gets in the way and you say “oh well, I’ll have to do it tomorrow” WOAH-WOAH-WOAH! There’s gotta be something between nothing and +1.5 hours of training. Is there not anything you can do in between? Yeah sure, it might not be the best workout or the most intense run — but it’s something and something is always better than nothing. More importantly that something is a momentum keeper! It keeps momentum on your side. It keeps the barrier to entry the following day—lower!
So before you checkout. Before you throw in the towel — what could a CHECKDOWN look like for you? 100 push ups in least amount of time? More family walks? 100 air squats? Fasting instead of over consuming? Whatever it is- CHECKDOWN!! These small bricks stack up over time. Even more so for me— they keep my mind in the game!
