3 Tips For Being a THE #1 DAD
Mindset matters- Be Optimistic. Be Encouraging. Have you ever been around a complainer? These people suck the energy right out of the room. Your kids see you as the superhero. This means it’s up to you to set the standard. Your voices is the voice that sets the tone in the home. If you see the glass half empty… so will they. And vice versa! Raise the energy. It all starts with you, Dad
Fit Body- Strong enough to throw kids in the pool for hours. Enough endurance to chase them around all day. Parenting from the coach while you scroll on your phone is a sure way to lose respect from your children. Kids are smarter than we think. They might not be able to define “I don’t respect my dad because he’s lazy.” But they will feel it. Get FIT. This way you have ENDLESS energy to be what you need to be for your family.
Your Words Matter.. A LOT! / Impulse Control - I was on the phone with a coaching client many years ago. He shared all the ways he ways communicated with his teenage son. When he was done I asked him… “If someone talked to you this way… how would you respond?” He said “I’d punch him in the face” … I sat on the other line in silence. (He knew then what he had to do…” There will be times we want to snap. You must learn to control these impulses. Be the LEADER** better yet, BECOME THE LEADER.
